On May 25, Jidu Automobile CEO Xia Yiping said through social media that Jidu's first mass-produced car started body mold casting, officially moving from model design to the preparation stage for mass production of complete vehicles.

Xia Yiping pointed out that in order to present the futuristic design in mass production, the Jidu engineering team has carried out a lot of technical research on the forming process, and achieved an engineering breakthrough in the ultra-large stamping depth.

It is reported that Jidu will hold a Jidu ROBODAY online press conference on June 8, when it will release the first concept car of a car robot.

It was previously revealed that the car robot has a high-speed, urban dual-domain high-level automatic driving capability and an ultra-intelligent car robot cockpit, whose design is inspired by spaceships.

This "automobile robot" has L4-level autonomous driving capabilities, can move autonomously, and can communicate naturally with people. Based on AI and big data technologies, this "automobile robot" will have the ability to continuously learn and evolve by itself.

The previously exposed information also shows that Jidu's first car front cover, forward dual lidar automatic driving technology solution, and scissor door design, and its first mass-produced car robot will be delivered in 2023.

In addition, it was reported on May 23 that recently, Baidu Apollo said that following the issuance of China's first batch of unmanned manned demonstration application notices, Beijing has recently issued a new batch of unmanned manned licenses to Baidu.

At present, Baidu's "unmanned behind the steering wheel" self-driving vehicle in Beijing has increased to 20, and the follow-up plan is to increase another 20 vehicles. Baidu said that it "has now owned the largest driverless fleet in China." After the self-driving travel service with unmanned main driver was launched in Yizhuang, Baidu also increased the number of unmanned recommended pick-up points to nearly 300.
